I'll dominate 'serious boxer' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight-round fight which will be streamed in real-time on the streaming platform.

British boxer Anthony Joshua said he will "stamp all over" the American and "break" his opponent as the two fighters came face-to-face to build hype for the upcoming heavyweight fight.

Former twice unified title holder Anthony Joshua meets YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a huge mismatch - at Miami venue on 19 December.

Boxer's Attitude

"I plan to break his face and break his body up. I'm here to prove I'm superior," the British boxer, 35, declared.

"I will dominate him completely. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I will seriously aim to injure him. That's my goal."

Respectful Exchange

Despite such comments, a composed Joshua and social media star Paul - usually famous for his showmanship - were respectful and maintained decorum with each other.

Jake Paul instead targeted former Joshua opponent Francis Ngannou and called him "a joke" after the Cameroonian rejected a fight offer.

Targeting Tyson Fury

Joshua, in the meantime, targeted British opponent Fury - and declined a million-pound wager 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a Paul win.

"Jake Paul is better than Fury - he's present here," Joshua said.

"I respect him for that."

Serious Opponent

In spite of stating he plans to punish Paul, Anthony Joshua chose not to talk badly about his opponent's fighting skills.

"Jake Paul is a legitimate boxer," he stated.

Jake Paul's History

Paul - who originally gained popularity on the Disney Channel - has mainly fought MMA fighters or faded names since entering professional boxing.

He lost to Briton Tommy Fury in 2023.

Financial Attraction

Nevertheless, the relative newcomer remains one of the sport's greatest money-making draws, consistently making substantial paydays.

Forecast and Belief

The 28 year old forecast a KO victory in rounds four or five and claimed he would derail the highly-expected Joshua–Fury fight, which is reportedly under discussion for 2026.

"The next fight will be me versus Tyson Fury next year," Paul declared.

Physical Difference

As Joshua and Paul engaged in the customary confrontation, with their physical disparity on show, it emphasized just how improbable this entire matchup is - and how amazing it is that the bout is really proceeding.
